This project is supported by TfGM promoting active travel and reducing barriers to riding a bike. Our bike library at Harpurhey Wellbeing centre offers free bike loans for local residents in Harpurhey and Moston.

Community Projects and Bike Shops

Various community projects and bike shops will offer bike rentals or second hand bikes at reduced cost for their members/customers. Check your nearest and pay them a visit. Yellow Bikes Manchester

New hire scheme introduced to Manchester in summer 2022 which has been warmly accepted by the residents. Yellow bikes are dotted in various location in Manchester (mainly the city centre, Trafford and Salford) with some ebikes available in the fleet. For shopping, moving bulky things or transporting children, please, check Cargaroo electric cargo bike hire. You will need to download their Cargaroo App to use the bikes.

The Bike Hive

This is a brilliant community project located in Alexandra park in the South of Manchester. Variety of bikes available for hire including road bikes, hybrids and mountain bikes for men, women and children. Also here, lead rides, cycling training, Dr Bike and Bike Maintenance sessions.
